We Feel Fine: The feelings of the blogger
"We feel fine is" a truly extraordinary and lovingly-made project. The "emotional engine" ransacked since the year 2005, all 10 minutes, the English-language blogosphere and collects all the sets of new postings containing the words "I feel" or "i am feeling" included. Then an attempt is the mood (happy, sad ...) and other attributes of the blog / blogger (gender, age, country, (weather!), Date investigating ...) in order to save this information. The result is a huge database with millions now moods, which grows daily, at approximately 20,000 new entries.
It can now be interesting questions to answer ": women feel fat more often than men? Does the weather affect your mood? What do people feel on Valentine's Day? And so on ...
The idea has so far been times brilliant, the implementation of the evaluation, however, is made even more impressive. To query these data graphically optimized interface was developed. A total of six different query categories are available:
- Madness: Chaotic display of emotion as buzzing around points. The colors correspond to different moods.
- Murmurs: Continuous representation of the currently found 'feeling sentences'
- Assembly: Display of pictures in connection with the feelings. The images can be enlarged along with the text excerpt and be ready to ship.
- Mobs: Emotions sorted by five other criteria: sex, feelings, age, country and weather
- Metrics: Current Trends in the mood compared to the average (5 sub)
- Mounds: Current total mood for feelings.
The individual reports can be further specified on the panel (gender, weather, ...) so that a variety of trends and statistics is possible. Each set of feelings can be traced back to the original course.
The total loads of interesting application of this functional diversity and the great idea to take a surprise entertaining and browse.
This tool reminds me of something Modstream, the emotional search engine for pictures ...
